No word on the British reaction, but for now, the Treaty of Ghent has not been abrogated. Stay tuned.
The older brother was questioned by the FBI two years ago, at the behest of the Russian government. The FBI found nothing, and asked the Russian why they were so interested in him. They did not reply to that request.
I'm uncomfortable with the idea that a "routine investigation" would have stopped the bombing. The kind of investigation that would have led to these brothers would have involved monitoring a citizen and a legal resident alien who were not suspected of criminal...
Further proof that the GOP operates solely on reflex ("DFL=bad"). They have no interest in serious policy debates.
Amendment XXVIII
Section 1. The second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The people shall have the right to keep and bear arms, subject to reasonable restrictions on that right by the state.

Of course, that was before the litmus tests of abortion and gun control became the determinants of...
"If Jesus was Jewish, why did he have a Puerto Rican name?"
H/t Donald K. Martin and his Pastor Paul Pit character on WDGY in the 70s.
The nominating team consisted of a student, a stay-at-home mom, an African-American delegate from 6th congressional district, and the chair of the Hispanic GOP assembly. This, of course, shows that labels don't matter to Mr. Downey. It's entirely coincidental that his "team" was made up of members of the groups the GOP needs to win elections again (and note that the only people who will swallow that line are the pathologically gullible, an essential component of the Republican base).
...The re-messaging of the Republican Party isn't going to change the substance of anything that he says. The only difference is now, it's all about "Freedom." The old message said it was all for Jesus.
