Posted on 10/22/11 at 12:56 pm in response to Klobuchar to sponsor jobs bill proposal focusing on infrastructure

It is so, so wonderful that Amy Klobuchar is suddenly interested in jobs and the infrastructure now that the election is around the corner. Humm, I wonder how long her interest will last after the election is over.

I recall that Amy Klobuchar also conveniently displayed an interest in seniors and health care before past elections. Then, for example, after the last election was over, Amy said "we are no rush to pass a health care bill". No kidding, the number uninsured rises everyday...

The audience members cheering on the deaths of others reminded me of lynch mobs and Nazis in the days of yore. What a frightening bunch. The bunch seems frighteningly convinced of their own superiority just as the Nazis did.

Some facts would have been nice. Just how many seem to have 'signed up' for Bachmann's road show?

Politicians certainly seems to be represent the lowest-common-denominator factor these days. No wonder the Harris poll reports that politicians have bad reputations. The Republican politicians are looking especially bad these days -- like the traveling snake oil salespersons of the days of yore. Put on some nice clothes and sell it!

Posted on 08/26/11 at 11:13 am in response to What if Obama gave FDR's 'I welcome their hatred' speech?

Unfortunately -- Obama has lost way too much credibility. He could give the all time greatest speech and many would not believe him. When he sold out on the public option and failed to push for the real health care reform he promised, he lost much of his base. Obama is now viewed as dishonest. When he ignored the economic problem and joblessness until the election was around the corner, he lost another major chunk of support. Obama has a failed presidency thanks to his own lack of backbone...

Hayward will fit right in with the Republicans in the legislature. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse ... .

I don't this article is quite right on funding for the Perpich Center for Arts Education. It appeared to me that when funding for the Center from the education bill and the Legacy Amendment were combined, the Perpich Center actually ended up with increased funding.

Posted on 07/15/11 at 02:21 pm in response to DFL legislators may be the most dismayed with budget deal

Peter, I agree the Democrats lost control of the legislature because they became a party that supported an aristocracy of sorts while ignoring the legislation supported by the majority of Minnesotans. Even Democratic votes got tired of donothing Democratic legislators throwing money at an obese bureaucracy while doing nothing to pass the kind of guaranteed health care bills that have already passed in other states.

A lot of voters begin to feel that if the Democratic legislators were...

Oops, you mean this is what happens when you have a legislature that keeps itself being paid -- no matter what -- while the little fellers are deprived of the basics. Remember, the Legislature is working very hard to protect every last penny of the rich. To them, it is only the rich and privileged that matter.

Besides, the Legislature is also working very, very hard to ensure that the poor little rich guy who owns the Vikings gets public funding. My, my, my.

Anyone who has seen a young girl go through a pregnancy knows what a tragedy this can mean. Those who judge such young girls for getting abortions are sad, sad, sad.

I must say that I find the beeline that politician Amy Klobuchar makes to every disaster to be repugnant. If I could believe for even one second that her parading to disaster areas, after calling the press first of course, was anything more than an insincere show of concern, I might not feel like upchucking right now. I observe, however, that Klobuchar has done little during her years in Washington to help the folks from North Minneapolis.

Her constant use of disasters for photo op...
