Swiftee, I was attempting to riff on your Swiftee site: "Pair 'o Dice".
"Paradise" was simply a word that sounded similar.
Perhaps the word-play had not occurred to you.
It was simply a homophone. Thought you might get a kick out of it.

Example:
So a homophone would be - There was mail from a male.
And a homonym would be - The bandage was wound around the wound.

Deadwood or Spearfish this year?

Swiftee, day off from "paradise"?

This is how the Bachmann juggernaut rolls through the sixth.

Evangelical Christians are the energy and passion that make this juggernaut roll. Simply drive north on 35W and through her district to see one of their most important issues posted on the many billboards that follow the interstate.

Statistically it would appear that a majority of Bachmann's support resides in places like: Elk River, Big Lake, Ramsey, Ham Lake, St. Michael and...

Posted on 07/25/09 at 07:12 pm in response to U.S. Bancorp accuses Opus Corp. of fraud

Most folks know by now that bankster's make their money on fees.

Overall, bank fees are on track to top $55 billion this year. Of course some of these bank fees are used to invest in technology and expand ATM networks. Some are to add to the bottom line. After all its going to take a hefty sum to replace the losses from defaults and from defaults that have yet to occur.

But more incredibly Sir, you let them take your money. Unless of course you have no personal bank account....

Posted on 07/25/09 at 07:06 am in response to Daily Glean: Pawlenty on Obama: He's 'scamming' us

The governor has to make a few headlines in order to try and get his political message out to the public. Pawlenty is simply marketing himself as the anti-Obama, with few specifics and fewer ideas.

The governor has nothing to lose by doing so. He can appeal to the conservative base as well as to the over 40% that did not vote for Obama.

The upside is that American voter becomes a bit more familiar with Pawlenty's brand as well as his face. Pawlenty needs to improve his...

I've had the pleasure to use most all of the bike trails in the metro area for recreational purposes.

The trails that are located in the northern reaches of our state, I use as a summer resident in northern MN while at our lake home.

So it might be fair to say that the states northern bike trails represent a draw for tourists that are also biking enthusiasts. The local economies of the northern Mn lake region rely on the "tourist dollar".

It is my personal experience...

Most of the people running the health care debate know that the problem isn't really the insurance companies, but for political reasons they make good fall guys.

The problem is health care itself. But you can't blame patients for over "consuming" health care. You can't blame the patient for being genetically predisposed to being ill. You can't vilify a cancer patient for wanting to live. And you can't undermine physicians by publicly stating that they're out for the money.

And...

I could make a lot of money with access to TARP and near-zero interest rates, too.

Borrow at 0.21% and lend twelve times at 5.83% and we are surprised there's a profit? That's right, after about 4-5 months they'll have paid back the original borrowing and have recapitalized themselves from cash flow. Its all gravy after that no matter what the re-default rate.

What would the Swiftee version of health care reform look like Thomas?

Posted on 07/22/09 at 11:08 am in response to Target to celebrate 23 store openings this weekend

From the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal: SuperTarget planned for Woodbury now on hold

Target recently informed JMW that it would not proceed with the project unless it receives “a pretty significant discount” from its previously negotiated deal, JMW Principal Mark Johnson said.

“We’re dumbfounded. We’ve been working on this deal for four-and-a-half years. I don’t know how, all of a sudden, the numbers don’t work.”
