Good to hear from you again, Bunny.
Yes, it's true that after being closed for a number of years, Stasiu's is now Stanley's (Stasiu is Polish for Stanley), an much more upper-crusty kind of bar than the kind I usually patronize. On this, Swiftee and I agree.
BTW, it was not the smoking ban that killed Stasiu's. The owner died suddenly, and the bar was shuttered. The new place seems to be doing well, and even has its own food truck.
It's my first time. I worked the Primary, so I'm ready for the Big Show in November.
All diesel fuel, including traditional petroleum diesel, can experience gelling in extreme cold temperatures. Finding the right mix of #1 and #2 diesel fuel, as well as anti-gelling additive can easily solve this problem.
The city of Minneapolis has used B20 biodiesel year round in its snowplows, ambulances and fire engines for a number of years with no problem. Brooklyn Park also uses a higher-blend biodiesel in it's fleet.
Thanks for the link to the biodiesel cold weather guide. Steve's comment underscores what I mentioned about petroleum diesel in cold weather. It makes sense to store your diesel vehicles inside, if you can, during our winter months. He also points out the reason my organization, the American Lung Association in Minnesota, recognizes biodiesel as a clean air choice -- it burns cleaner than traditional diesel.
...on biodiesel fuel economy is a presumption, based on the energy content of biodiesel, compared to petroleum diesel. Other studies of actual buses running on B20 have shown that B20 mileage is not significantly lower than buses running on ultra low sulfur diesel. This is similar to what we have seen in fleets using B20 in Minnesota.
That said, our focus is on air quality, not miles per gallon. Since emissions from vehicles are the single largest source of air pollution in Minnesota...
...I suspect the Dems will regain control of at least one, if not both, houses in the state legislature. So many retirements and redistricting will offset the usual advantage incumbants enjoy in elections, add to that a big turnout in a presidential election (although not as big as 4 years ago) and a broke (and broken) MN GOP Party, and....
...I can't see how anyone in Duluth can vote for this guy. I think he is still in self-denial. If he can't do the right thing, the voters can in 11 weeks.
The link to the Romelle Jones interview was a good find.
Some of the proponents of smokeless tobacco products suggest that these are "safe alternatives" to smoking or that they can even be used as a smoking cessation tool. Neither of these statements are true.
Smokeless tobacco causes significant health risks and is not a safe alternative to smoking cigarettes. As a health organization, the American Lung Association in Minnesota is dedicated to making sure Minnesotans know the facts about smokeless tobacco.
