Eric, I am recently retired and relatively new to the internet. Thank you for answering my comment. I am neither Republican nor Democrat. Of course, I am not sure the 20% of independant voters in the last election would tip the election results for either Franken or Colman in a runoff election. Without a majority winner the elected official can never represent the true wishes of the people. I think the chances of a true winner would probably be solved with a runoff.
I have been a resident of MN since 1972 and I have never seen anything as silly as this recount. The 3rd party candidate got 20% of the vote. All they had to do was have a runoff election between Colman and Franken. The law needs to be changed.
