It seems like Minnesota is losing a lot of business to Wisconsin. Note to MinnPost readers who track this kind of thing: Is there any area of business that Wisconsin is losing to us in Minnesota?

I wasn't thinking of specific businesses. I was thinking of broad areas of business. For example, are we out-producing Wisconsin in pork and turkey production, and the Wisconsinites just can't keep up with us no matter how hard they try?

Franken can't ride on Obama's coat tails this time around so it won't be so easy. He will have to stand on his own, and he doesn't have the gravitas that Kline has.

Posted on 02/14/13 at 02:23 pm in response to Do early childhood programs for poor kids work?

No early childhood program, including Head Start, all-day kindergarten and the preschool program Obama is touting, can make up for the lack of a father in the home. Leftists rarely mention fatherlessness, however, because 1.) changing culture is much more difficult than throwing taxpayer money at a new government program. 2 ) It's not politically correct to talk about since some cultures have more fatherlessness than others, and we wouldn't want them to think they have any responsibility in...

Posted on 02/13/13 at 03:44 pm in response to Obama tells Republicans: I’m tired of begging for cooperation

Democrats were in the majority in both the House and the Senate in 2009 and 2010. Those initiatives that Obama claimed he has been begging the Republicans for could have been passed then, but weren't. Why? Because his own party and the voters weren't all that interested in them. I doubt Obama, himself, was interested in anything but Obamacare during that time. What crocodile tears!

Homecare workers should be allowed to form a union, as long as they don't force others to join who don't want to, or deduct union dues from their paychecks without their consent.

If President Obama is really interested in changing gun laws, he would be negotiating with lawmakers in Congress right now. Obama doesn't know how to govern, however. He'd rather campaign. That's why he came here, even though what happens in Minneapolis has no effect on the national scene.

Posted on 02/01/13 at 05:07 pm in response to B. Todd Jones' ATF confirmation just got tougher

Jones should have been able to do both, go after white-collar crime, and violent gang, drug and gun activities. Isn't that what other US Attorneys do?

Posted on 01/30/13 at 04:31 pm in response to Benghazi as metaphor: More lessons for our politicians

When SOS Hillary Clinton said, "What difference, at this point, does it make?" it appeared she was answering a question we already knew the answer to. (Why the Embassy in Benghazi was attacked?)
What we still don't know is why she, President Obama and Susan Rice and others in the Obama administration misled the public for several days by insisting the attack was the result of a video trailer, when Clinton and Obama already knew right off the bat that it was a terrorist attack.. It is...

I doubt the sales tax on clothing wil bring in near the revenue expected if there is a $100 limit. I'm expecting to see a lot of items priced $99 each so customers will be able to avoid paying it .Retailers will lose money, and so will the state.
