MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Just read this article, and I must say you are forgetting that ALL traditional media is in trouble.
Commercial radio (sirius, phone, itunes), broadcast tv (cable, internet), cable (internet), yellow pages (already dead), etc. are all doomed. This is yet another article from a bitter ex-strib employee. Everyone I know looks at the Strib each day either in print or digital.
She is truly a terrible woman. St. Cloud should be ashamed.
Boring analysis David.
If you want a real polling website, go to www.fivethirtyeight.com
This is what Joel Kramer is subsidizing you for? Now we know you are desperate.
Great reporting. I saw a mouse over at the Federal Reserve two weeks ago. Please give us an update.
Just what we need!
Are we sure these GANG OF 8 aren't Republicans? I suggest they move off the range, and find something productive to do with their little lives than destroy the beauty.
And as a person who attends Mass regularly, I find it un-Christian to put peoples lives on the line for a few bucks.
Sir,
I was in the media buying business for 22 years before I retired last May.
You are not being truthful.
I have not seen one article on the rapid decline of circulation numbers for local magazines - MplsSt.Paul magazine. When you appear in Lamberts column in what appears to be a chummy relationship, you lose credibility.
When you ignore the rapid decline in ratings of local news stations - also a large contibutor of news in our community - you lose credibility...
Brauer,
Did the StarTribune not hire you for something? What is this wierd obsession you have with them?
Ratings for our blessed WCCOTV, KARE11 and KSTP fell 15% this year (in addition to the 14% decline the year before). Why? Because I don't have to watch them anymore to get the weather. I get sports, weather and 'comedy' (they call them news reports) from the web. I don't need them anymore.
Your buddy over at MplsSt.Paul Magazine - Mr. Lambert - just saw another...
My niece was considering a career in journalism, but has put that on hold for now. She said there is 'no future' in newspapers, television or radio.
What exactly are you doing to get young people interested in a career in journalism? You are taking advantage of the old model, but what happens when all the old journalists from WCCO TV, Star Tribune and Pioneer Press retire?
Why are news organizations (the Strib is NOT unique in this) reporting single pollsters?
Have anyone thought of averaging out these polls?
I am a loyal reader of the Star Tribune newspaper. I also enjoy reading MinnPost. And I am a big fan of Don Shelby.
I fear the decline of newspapers, local television news and radio. What blogger is going to quit their job and fly themselves to Iraq to give me an impartial view of the situation?
I believe it would be wise for 'old media' to work together to cover the news as cost-efficiently as possible. It seems bloggers are taking advantage of the old media model for now....
