While I find it good that the new deal reduces the public contribution to less than 50%, any discussion of how much the public contributes and whether or not it's a good deal is moot, if not misleading, without any discussion of who receives the benefits. Yes, in terms of the public's contribution the Metrodome is a worse deal, but the Dome not only runs a profit, that profit is returned to the treasury of the city. If all Bachmann had done was to question Mr. Perry's requiring all 6th grade girls in Texas to get the vaccine, then there's no issue with that. Frankly, Mr Perry's order seems to me at odds with the typical small-government position of Republicans. Informed debate about policy is the foundation of our democratic republic. I agree with the freedom to choose, assuming one has truthful information to base the decision on.

Focusing on the question originally posed by the post, "fear-mongering" is a pretty charged term and is absolutely subject to opinion. At the very least, MPR are doing their credibility a strong disservice by omitting the context of the situation in the service of their financial position. Whether that is "fear-mongering" or not is open for debate. I love MPR and find that the service has a lot of value for me, but I am disappointed that they themselves aren't painting the whole picture for...
