Actually there is a well-regulated militia today. We now call it the National Guard. It serves both its particular State and the Federal Government, depending on circumstances.
As noted above, a Minnesota Drivers License doesn't guarantee that one is a citizen. However my passport does. Will Minnesota accept my passport in order to vote? And what about people who moved to Minnesota from states or countries that did not issue birth certificates when they were born? I know that Tennesee wasn't issuing them as late at 1951.
PolitiFact has reviewed 30 of Rep. Bachmann's statements (see http://www.politifact.com/personalities/michele-bachmann/). Five were rated "mostly false"; thirteen were "false" and seven were rated "pants on fire". That's not good enough: we should demand to know how those remaining fve slipped through.
I don't understand why conservatives are against gay marriage. First it is a matter of the individual rights they are always talking about. Second, why are conservatives promoting gay promiscuity? Wouldn't monogamy be better?
The Foley Theatre was the original home of Actors Theatre of St. Paul and while it was a good place to see a show it was a difficult place in which to produce one.
I'm sorry that St. Thomas students are losing a performance space but the Foley had many problems. There was limited dressing room space, no scene shop, no costume shop, originally no light booth and no elevator. Playgoers complained about climbing 2 flights of stairs to reach the box office but few knew the scenery came...
