I was SO hoping for a Bachmann/Palin presidential ticket in 2016. Oh well.
"committee Republicans packed up their coffee mugs, briefcases and laptops and headed out of the room"
WHICH BEING TRANSLATED MEANETH: If you don't do what I say I'm going to stamp my feet and cry and then I'm going to take my dolly and my dishes and go home!
"And doesn't "every shares" mean "this way, we can get tax revenue from the poor too?""
Yes, that's precisely what it means. Shameful. There is nothing so regressive as a sales tax on essentials such as clothing, food and medicine.
Now there's some grand news on this snowy day. I look forward to the election.
Ah yes, the famous "skim milk marriage." Unfortunately, much of the tax code and other structures that support the 1400+ benefits automatically given to married couples are specific in their wording and I don't see the lawmakers going through all those things to change them.
Richard Callahan, "Nothing wrong with a civil union. My wife and I were married by a judge 36 years ago." Notice the word "married" in your second sentence. How about if we simply say "civil marriage" and "...
After all the kerfuffle over "voter fraud," it must be a great consolation for those who pushed for the draconian failed Voter ID amendment to finally have an actual case of VOTER FRAUD they can point to while howling for heads to be hoisted on pikes. Thank you, Mrs Schneider, you have given meaning to so many otherwise empty lives.
The wolves are not ours to "manage." They've been here for thousands of years more than we have. If we managed our own population and activities better there'd be better outcomes for not only wolves but nature in general.
BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS should never be subjected to a popular vote. If that were the norm, Mississippi would still be a slaveholding state.
I'm beginning to think she honestly has no feeling for what "truth" might actually be. She just throws stuff out there and if she gets enough gullible people to bite on it, it becomes part of her "truth." Facts be damned!
Surely that's the wrong term. "Solicitations" maybe. An invitation is something like "Come to dinner at my place on Thursday." If I say "come to my place for dinner and bring $200 for me" that's not an invitation, it's salesmanship, and not very good salesmanship at that.
