Lance,

A challenge for you. Just for fun, read www.climateaudit.org for a month or so. And if you're really into learning, read the hockey stick history. WARNING it might scare you.

Don,

Good to know that you want to be a "registered Republican" when you grow up. There's still hope for you!

"Who does Michele Bachmann think she is?"

I think the better question is; Why does Eric Black care so much about who Michele Bachmann thinks she is?

Wacko U.S. Representatives have always run for President. Can you say Kucinich?

This obsession with "Bachmann and Me" is getting kind of creepy.

Late to this party...

Mr. Otto do you consider what Steven McIntyre does dishonest too?

Mr. Kingstad,

You stated:

"The GOP elite uses and manipulates you and your friends to advance their own agenda, which is to protect them, i.e. the wealthy elite, from taxes, regulation, etc."

Do you believe that it is only the GOP are the "elite." Are there no DEM or liberal "elites?"

If why not, why not?

Eric,

Here's an idea for a future post.

How does Obama square his comments at the Arizona memorial service about how we need to be more civil. With James Hoffa's introduction of Obama at his Labor day speech?

You have heard about that, I hope.

Or will you be like the White House. No comment.

"Would it be rude to point out at such a moment that the United States spends more on military hardware and personnel than the rest of the world combined."

Yes. Because you are assuming that countries like China and Russia are accurately and honestly reporting their military budgets. For the record I don't believe the U.S. is either.

Got a source?

#11 Ray // "because of his willingness – some would say over-willingness – to seek some sort of compromise or consensus solution to a number of difficult national problems"

There was no compromise on the stimulus bill, and any compromise on health care was done to get enough Democrats in line (whatever happened to the "blue dogs anyway). Remember, Republicans could stop nothing from '09 to '11. One is an utter failure, the other is deeply unpopular. Which is why the "lunatic Tea Party...

#4 Ray,

Great post.

My problem with it is that you were to run a replace function and change Bachmann to President Obama, and Perry with Reid, and Palin with Pelosi. It would be just as great.

And that's the real problem.

#17 Paul //The biggest issue, and this really needs to be emphasized, is that these right wingers actually don't believe in Democracy.

And why would they. We don't live in a "Democracy".

As for the rest of that paragraph, it's absolutely backwards.

//The conservative mind prefers to reference authority, this is why authoritarianism always arises from the conservative spectrum.

The conservative mind prefers freedom of the individual. How many historical references...
