MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
It seems like it will be the DFL majority and Governor that will be extracting the money from all of our friend's and neighbor's wallets so that they can sit back and get that raise they want to give themselves.
MnPost, the Strib, Pat Kessler on the radio, all are concerned about the reaction by the Governor. At most protests or events, the "journalists" get quotes from the people in attendance (both sides if they're good) and let the readers decide. Has anyone seen more than one or two of the questions asked or wondered why so many people took some of their valuable time to come out and share their feelings with the Governor? And seriously, we're going to give the Governor the Nobel Peace prize...
Where? Reader Berg must not have seen your reply and asked for cites so I thought that I would.
It is rightly written under the heading "Political Agenda".
That Mr. Graves will run against Bachmann even if she doesn't run again. It worked when Senator Obama ran against President George Bush and again when President Obama ran against President George Bush in his re-election campaign.
The Short Takes part of the editorial page is usually reserved for in-house columnists or other newspaper's editorials but today today's piece was scored by an individual person writing a letter to the editor. As odd as this is, today's editorial cartoon surpasses Mr. Greene's effort in that space usually reserved for the Pulitzer Prize winning in-house cartoonist was taken over by an effort that Mr. Sack never would have even considered. Kudos to the Strib for savaging both sides of the...
And given the recent record of Commissioner Jesson and her department, I would disqualify her right at the start. Sadly, this will not be the case and "trainwreck" might also apply to our own state exchange.
It requires some effort, thus, apparently causes infringement. The scarier part is trying to figure out just who all will have access to the registration and background check information. It would seem like it should be public information. If not, given the ease at which drivers license information has been released to the public, such information would become public very soon. Paying for registration and background checks will cost money. Raising that money through more taxes infringes...
Same thing here. Up or down. Why wait for floor votes when it would probably take about 15 minutes for all of the legislators to push the button on their desk? Waiting until "after the budget" means a vote after midnight on the last day of the session.
Some examples of the government taking money from the lower and middle class (taxes) and giving it to the top 5% would be helpful to prove the point. Wealthy people succeeding and making more money than people making less is not the same as the government redistributing money from one group to another.
