It doesn't really matter who is picked for VP on either side until the word compromise re-enters the political conversation. Until compromise is once again acceptable in politics all proposed solutions will lead to nothing but gridlock. Both sides are very adept at putting a purposeful poison pill in every proposal that is unacceptable to the other side. All proposals will be my way of the highway based. Common sense doesn't happen until compromise is the chosen method of arriving at a...

Posted on 08/11/12 at 12:42 pm in response to Minnesota Senate hopes to take Brodkorb case to federal court

Fiscal conservatives are you watching the tax dollars mount up? I know being fiscal conservative means it is ok to spend as long as it isn't your own money. It will be interesting to hear your explain for this expenditure when all is said and done. Republicans are leadership bankrupt! Take note voters. The choice is yours in November.

Posted on 08/10/12 at 10:12 am in response to T-Paw is now on 7 corporate boards

Pawlenty's only claim to fame after 8 very long disastrous years in office was he was able to kick the can down the road and leave $6,000,000,000 in debt in his wake. We can't call him a public servant because he was only serving himself as he was busy trying, unsuccessfully, to look presidential. In the long run he was nothing but worthless. If he is the best choice the GOP has for VP it just proves how utterly bankrupt the party is. The party doesn't have any core. It is made up of a...

Posted on 08/07/12 at 07:57 am in response to Voter ID interpretation remains murky

We spend a lot of time and money chasing those fiscal conservative republicans' unfounded fears. Now they want to set up a "free" Voter ID system when they can't even prove Minnesota has a voter ID problem. "Free", in the eyes of republicans, means someone else pays, just not them. We just had two recent recount elections that had bipartisan monitors looking for voter fraud and none was found. Voter ID would be an amendment to the state constitution that would only serve republicans....

America hasn't become great through the work of political cowards. It was politicians who were willing to work together and compromise that moved our country forward. There is no place for political cowards in our system. We have seen what uncompromising positions bring the people the politicians were elected to serve. It brings nothing but political gridlock. Most often there are extremely weak reasons for not voting for one thing or another. Amazingly if politicians would work...

It is cowardice when both party's only vote party line which says neither party has compromise on their mind. Each side proposes, but makes sure there is a poison pill contained in their proposal. This way they know they won't have to deal with the other party. Both sides look at their jobs as far more important moving the country forward. Political cowards!

Posted on 08/06/12 at 10:40 am in response to T-Paw feels new heat on old charge

Pawlenty should feel the heat for only kicking the can down the road as the governor and leaving the state with a $6,000,000,000 debt. He should feel the heat for not being willing to work with others. He should feel the heat for having no worthwhile accomplishments during his 8 very long years in office as he put trying to look presidential ahead of meaningful accomplishments. He should feel the heat from the public because he has already been told he is not presidential material and...

Posted on 08/03/12 at 01:00 pm in response to Onward Christian Soldier Bachmann

Using your words, "She has been criticized, denounced or repudiated by her own speaker, her party’s most recent presidential nominee, her own former top campaign aide, the chairman of the intelligence committee on which she sits and by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops". The republican elite absolutely need her to distract the public from the phony republican talking points. The more attention she gets the less they have to try and justify their talking point BS. She serves a very...

Posted on 08/02/12 at 08:24 am in response to On-off-on-off Mark Ritchie church talk ... postponed

How did all the flakes of Minnesota land in the 6th district? Generally speaking Minnesota has reasonable citizens, that is, until you get to the 6th district. Or is it all the flakes that keep supporting Bachmann don't actually live in the 6th district, the state of Minnesota, or even the US. The Supreme Courts worst decision ever, the Citizen United Bill, has usurped the voting power of the everyday citizen. It has made it very easy for big money influence politicians to the point of...

Posted on 08/01/12 at 08:09 am in response to Who has power to name amendments? Supreme Court poised to settle dispute

"Don't vote for this amendment" as it is only a republican solution looking for a problem. Voter ID has not been proven in Minnesota. After two recent recount elections and a bipartisan group monitoring the recount, looking for voter fraud, both sides said there was none. It is another nation wide republican folly. The constitution should not be amended to just serve the republicans. The constitution is intended to serve all Minnesotan's. .
