MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Mr. Moufang: Take a trip to the Hennepin County Libraries like Minneapolis Central, or neighborhood libraries like Franklin or Sumner. You'll see adults at work on citizenship and/or job searches and/or self-improvement, and you'll see kids at Homework Hub. The future of the public library is already here; it looks good!
As has been stated above, this is an attempt to discredit her by someone acting on behalf of another Republican candidate. Plenty of people function just fine with migraines. And even if she was able to reduce her own migraines, she'd still be a carrier!
Perhaps Brian Lambert could take note of today's MinnPost headline on Susan Perry's column about things at Medtronic taking a "nasty, personal turn" and review his column today to excise the snarky comments that don't relate to issues but rather to personalities.
Best wishes to Dale. The local news programming has a snarky edge that could hardly be described as objective; that could be fixed. But as a contributor and listener for 25 years, I miss the music in the morning and the shortened drive-time evening programs are not what they could be (and once were).
Perhaps this could work in Congress also. The Federal Employee Health Benefits Program means our elected officials are better covered at lower cost than most of us are, with more choices, no waiting period, no precondition requirements...and the government (us) pays 75% of the premium!
In November, 1960, Look Magazine commissioned a well-known Civil War expert MacKinlay Kantor, to write a lengthy article called "If The South Had Won The Civil War." It was accompanied by color illustrations of what-ifs, including Lincoln being taken away to an unknown fate. I was ten years old at the time and still remember the effect the article had on me. It must have had a similar effect on others, as the article was republished as a book and it is still available on Amazon today.
Many very thoughtful comments here. Refreshing! What about other cities? Houston has tunnels, which are useful to urban pedestrians during the sweltering summer because Houston is built on a swamp. Is it a relic of the '70s too?
Church dinners? Who's gonna protect those of us who partake at synogogues or mosques?
"Good filmmaking but not updated science" is a headline that will probably scare fact-benders like Oliver Stone into making movies like "Your Friend the Postal Service Delivery Person."
Cute comment, Brian. Maybe you should go beyond Rocky and Bullwinkle. See http://www.potawatomi.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=...
