Tips for finding a job online
Despite the bleak national statistics -- roughly 15 million people unemployed and 70 million more looking to make a career move -- you can land a job via the internet.
A survey conducted by employment consulting firm CareerXRoads.com, shows that in 2009, 13.2% of external hires were found through job boards and 22.3% were from a company's website.
Forbes Woman's Julie Weingarden Dubin offers suggestions for job-hunting online, including: polishing your résumé daily, carefully selecting which positions to apply for, cleaning up any digital dirt that may give searchers a negative impression, and establishing an easy-to-find online presence.
