Members of Spirits of the Red City were hoping for a good crowd for the release of their “Hunter’s Moon” CD last Sunday at Bryant Lake Bowl, but nobody really expected the gig to be sold out far enough in advance to turn away dozens of others who showed up at the door at a reasonable hour.
Consequently, “we wanted to put on a makeup show for everybody who couldn’t get in Sunday,” says SotRC trumpeter Brian Voerding, explaining why the group has been added as an opening act for the Andy Elwell show tonight (Jan. 8) at the 7th Street Entry. The cover charge of $5 is half the cost of the cover at BLB.
