Bass-baritone Eric Owens will make his Carnegie Hall recital debut Friday, but we’ll get to see him in St. Paul two days earlier.

Owens, a hot, new opera star, sings Wednesday in an 8 p.m. Schubert Club recital at the Ordway.

He’ll perform works by Mozart, Hugo Wolf and Brahms in the first half of the show, then returning for songs by John Ireland, Roger Quilter, Camille Saint-Saëns and Sir Edward Elgar. To view the program, go here.

Owens actually has three scheduled performances upcoming at Carnegie Hall, so we’re getting a bit of an  advance look at the New York City season.
