‘Chain of Fools’ showcases young acting talent

Get a look at some potential stars of the stage this week at “Chain of Fools,” the annual showcase for participants in the Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training program.

In all, 11 performers from around the country came to Minneapolis this summer for advanced training before the final year of their respective university programs. Over the past 13 years, the program has seen a number of alumni show up in later Guthrie productions.

The 90-minute program looks at love in all of its messy permutations, from passion to relationships to breakups. The cast collaborated with Guthrie Movement Artist and Director Marcela Lorca (who directed the recent “Caroline, or Change”) to develop the show over the eight-week program.

Best of all, the showcase is free, though reservations are required.

“Chain of Fools” runs Thursday-Sunday in the Dowling Lab at the Guthrie. For reservations, call 612-377-2224 or visit online.
