Artists invited to fill out survey on space needs in Stillwater-Lake Elmo area

An online survey of artists’ and arts organizations’ space needs in the Stillwater-Lake Elmo area will end on Thursday, Oct. 1. Artists involved in a broad range of disciplines — including all the performing arts, media arts, literary arts, design arts and visual arts — are encouraged to fill it out, whether they’re living in the area currently or plan to move or work there.

The survey is being conducted by Minneapolis-based Artspace for a consortium of seven cultural organizations convened by the St. Croix Valley Foundation. According to the group, the research is designed to determine interest in live/work space, studio/workspace, and shared space for art creation, art display, rehearsals and performances.

Artspace creates, fosters and preserves affordable space for artists and arts organizations. In December it will provide its recommendations for spaces in the greater Stillwater-Lake Elmo area, and the results will be shared in early 2010 at a public meeting.

Artists can fill out the survey here.
