First Thursday features open studios at Northrup King

The first Thursday in October is coming up, and that means open-studio time at the Northrup King Building — along with related First Thursday events in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.

Artists’ studios will be open Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Northrup King; two new exhibits will be featured.

The Bohemian Press U of M printmaking group will host “Revenge of the Bohemian Press” in the third floor gallery (No. 332). Icebox Gallery (No. 442) will open a new exhibit, “Road Work Ahead,” and screen the “Road Trip Photography” film; for more information and a preview of the film, go here.

Also on Thursday, nearby Shuga Records, 13th Avenue NE, will offer live music from 2 to 11 p.m. Scheduled bands include Unknown Prophets, The Goondas, Guystorm, Unicorn Dream Attack and others.
