Music festival opens tonight in St. Paul’s Mears Park

A free weekend music festival kicks off today in downtown St. Paul’s Mears Park.

It’s called the Concrete and Grass Lowertown Music Festival and includes a wide range of musical genres, from Moore by Four to the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Friday performances run from 3:30 to 10 p.m., with headliner Freddy Fresh with Special guest Mark Wheat at 8:30 p.m. Music starts at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s headliner is Romantica, with Heiruspecs on Sunday.

In addition to the main stage, there’ll be an acoustic stage in the park.
