SPCO gets new artistic planner from L.A. Philharmonic

Helane Anderson, artistic administrator for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will be the new director of artistic planning for the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra starting next month.

She replaces John Mangum, who left the SPCO in August to be the artistic administrator for the New York Philharmonic.

Said SPCO President Sarah Lutman:

“Helane’s deep experience with artists and composers, refined artistic perspective, and enthusiasm for the SPCO’s uniquely collaborative artistic environment make her an excellent fit for our director of artistic planning.”

The job involves working with the Artistic Partners and the Artistic Vision Committee “to create and implement artistic initiatives — including artist/conductor engagements, season programming, touring, festival and recording projects. The position also oversees the SPCO’s education programs.”
