The Ritz Theater’s third-annual choreographers’ evening, “Renovate,” opens this weekend with a new batch of emerging and established dance artists showcasing new work. To read about the genesis of “Renovate,” originated by choreographer and dancer Lisa Conlin, go here

This year’s show includes 12 choreographers working in styles from hip-hop to modern, to experimental dance theater. The panelists who worked with Conlin on selection this year were ballroom dance pro Mariusz Olenski and film/theater/happenings/dance artist Vanessa Voskuil.

The choreographers include Angharad Davies, Denise Armstead, Elizabeth Bergman, John Munger, Alana Morris, Cade Holmseth, Taja Will, Julie Warder, Erinn Drummond and Kari Mosel. Also, expect suggestive, transgressive from Jaime Carrera. And Jennifer Isle is reprising a harrowing, poignant excerpt from her company’s (Off-Leash Area) popular and critically acclaimed show, “The Jury.”

“Renovate,” 8 p.m., Thursday-Saturday. Ritz Theater, Minneapolis. Tickets $15 to $18.
