Savage Umbrella season to include ‘Leaves,’ ‘Winter Adventures …’

Savage Umbrella has announced its first full season of new shows. Formed in 2007, the company has produced a number of shows, including “Love Me or Die!” and last spring’s collaboration with 3AM Productions, “The Awakening.”

The season:

  • “Leaves” examines modern America through the works of Walt Whitman and the contributions of the ensemble. The show will run Sept. 9-12 at the Playwright’s Center, 2301 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis. Tickets will be $12 to $18 on a sliding scale.
  • “The Winter Adventures of Happy, the SAD Clown” is set for December.
  • “the ravengers (shut up and let me go)” will be part of simultaneous workshops in Seoul and here, with a public presentation in April, followed by a full production in fall 2011.
  • “Ex-Gays,” a satire of the ex-gay movement, is scheduled for the summer of 2011.
