The latest edition of the St. Paul Almanac — the 2011 version — will be launched tonight at a party in St. Paul with readings, signings, food and hors d’oeuvres.
This is the fifth year for the almanac, which contains essays, photos, stories and poems about the Capital City.
Editor Kimberly Nightingale has a team of community editors who helped weed through nearly 450 submissions for this year’s model. After careful review, they picked 129 stories and poems from 116 contributors.
The launch party is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Black Dog Cafe, 308 Prince St., a great artsy establishment in St. Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood, just east of the main downtown.
