An author named Jonathan Franzen is speaking tonight at the Talking Volumes series at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.

You may have heard of him: “Time” magazine cover, Oprah Book Club and gushing reviews about his new book, “Freedom,” which some think is the next Great American Novel. Characters in the book live in St. Paul in the early going.

The event has long been sold out, but it will be streamed live online tonight, starting at 7 p.m., by MPR.
