Hill House Chamber Players to open 25th season Nov. 1

The Hill House Chamber Players will open their 25th season with concerts Nov. 1 and 8 in the historic St.

The Hill House Chamber Players will open their 25th season with concerts Nov. 1 and 8 in the historic St. Paul mansion.

The program will feature Joseph Haydn’s Trio in A major for Piano, Violin and Cello; Giovanni Battista Borghi’s Sonata No. 1 in D major for Viola and Double Bass; Gioachino Rossini’s Sonata No. 5 in E-flat Major for Strings; and “The Empire Builder Suite: the Life and Legend of James J. Hill for Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar and Narrator,” by Jeffrey Van.

Tours of the James J. Hill are available after the concert.

The concert series, which will include performances on March 7 and 14, 2011, and on May 2 and 9, 2011, is co-sponsored by The Schubert Club and Minnesota Historical Society

Hill House Chamber Players, 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and 8 at the James J. Hill House, 240 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Tickets are $17 each or $50 for the season for the general public, $15 each or $45 for the season for members of co-sponsoring organizations. Students $12 each.
