Patrick Castillo is the new artistic planning director for the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and will start work Nov. 1.
He replaces Helane Anderson, who left in August to pursue other interests after only eight months on the job.
Castillo comes from a Silicon Valley chamber music festival and institute — Music@Menlo — where his title was artistic administrator, New York.
A biography says:
“Composer, vocalist, writer, and producer Patrick Castillo has garnered the esteem of musicians, audiences, and leading arts figures throughout the classical music community. His accomplishments as a composer have been recognized by numerous commissions and awards including the W.K. Rose Fellowship in the Creative Arts.”
