St. Paul photographer Leo Kim has created some terrific photos of St. Paul and plans to publish them in a book called “St. Paul Serenity,” but is struggling to come up with money for printing.

Enter some prominent supporters, including St. Paul stalwarts like former Mayor George Latimer, Gregory Page, John Mannillo, Jim Miller and Jane Prince, who are holding as “pre-launch” party Thursday to raise money for the effort.

They hope to raise the printing money by presales of the book, sale of photographs from the book, and contributions, Prince said.

“Leo is an amazing artist who lives in Lowertown, and his photographs include lots of St. Paul that has not yet been so aptly documented, including the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary, Swede Hollow Park, Raspberry Island, the St. Paul riverfront and more,” Prince said.

The pre-launch party is Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the offices of Weinblatt & Gaylord, 300 Kellogg Square in downtown St. Paul.
