An “American Idol” contestant will headline the cast of the Ordway’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” coming to St. Paul in December.
Starring as Joseph will be Anthony Fedorov, who was in the top four in Idol’s fourth season. He later toured with the 2005 “American Idol Summer Tour.”
He made made his professional theatrical debut in 2007 as Matt in “The Fantasticks,” and has played Joseph in other productions around the country.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical runs at the Ordway from Dec. 7 to Jan. 2.
Also in the cast, announced this week, is Jennifer Paz as the Narrator: her credits include “Les Misérables,” “Miss Saigon” and “The Last Five Years.” The Ordway’s vice President of theatrical programming and producing artistic director, James A. Rocco, will direct and choreograph.
Others in the cast who’ve been seen in town include: T. Mychael Rambo, who’s had theatrical and musical appearances with the Ordway, Guthrie Theater, Penumbra Theatre, Illusion Theater and Minnesota Opera, will play Jacob and Potiphar; Stewart Gregory, who was in the Ordway’s “Singin’ in the Rain,” will play the Pharaoh.
And the children’s chorus will have 40 children from the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.
