The second photo in our State Fair caption contest is from 1960 and features a member of Aut Swenson’s “Thrillcade” revue jumping an elephant with a pickup truck in the Grandstand. A trainer appears to be standing next to the elephant, giving the beast a little pep talk, possibly discussing the enhanced daredevil capablilities of that year’s model. Hauling firewood, pulling trailers and soaring over really large land mammals — that’s today’s Ford Jumpster!

The following are my caption ideas. Thrill me with your feats of captioning derring-do in the comments section.

“There’s no way the Dukes boys are going to get out of this pickle!”

“This is the best Republican National Convention opening ceremony ever!”

“I hope he does it this time… this is our last elephant.”
