Maybe the key question is really voter turnoff — not turnout

Women and African-Americans have made much progress. But there is still much more to be done before we are considered and treated as equal citizens.
Despite unfavorable, often mocking, media attention to Millett and feminists in general, the movement flourished.
Once barriers are broken, cultures change. What was unusual becomes normal, albeit unsettling to those who dislike change.
It’s about time this country recognized that today, for 99 percent of us, the economically successful family with children needs two incomes.
