Each day this week, we’re choosing one registered book club to receive a signed copy of Ian Shive’s new coffee table book, “The National Parks: Our American Landscape.”
Today’s winner is the Christ Lutheran Book Club, which meets at the church on University Avenue in St. Paul, kitty corner from the State Capitol. (I’ll update this post each day this week, adding info about the other winning clubs.)
More about the Christ Lutheran club:
Ten women. Ten meetings a year. Current read: “Invisible Man” by Ralph Ellison.
Recent reads: “44 Scotland Street” by Alexander McCall Smith. “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” by Mark Haddon. “Mountains Beyond Mountains: Healing the World — The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer” by Tracy Kidder. “Infidel” by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Club interest areas reported by the captain: “other countries, historical novels or biographies, just good writing.”
Details of the next prize drawing will be announced next week. Ten tickets for an upcoming literary event. Register your club here.
If you want to win you have to play. As they say.
