One drawing down, four to go

I’m seeing a pattern here. Something to do with “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.”

I’m seeing a pattern here.

The winner of today’s drawing is Not the Carleton Book Club.

The club was chosen randomly from the list of 99 clubs which have registered so far with MinnPost’s Book Club Club.

NTC is currently reading “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Schaffer and Annie Barrows.

No Ordinary Women, which won a wine and cheese basket in September, listed the same title as their current read.

Maybe it’s an irresistible choice for book clubs. Published in hardcover in 2008 and paper in 2009, it’s the newest title on our list of books about book clubs

NTC is a group of 12 women. They meet monthly in South Minneapolis, focusing on contemporary fiction and biography.

Other recent reads were “Mudbound” by Hillary Jordan, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson, “A Carrion Death” by Michael Stanley and “American Wife” by Curtis Sittenfeld.

Today’s prize is a copy of Ian Shive’s new coffee table book, “The National Parks: Our American Landscape,” value $40.

Tomorrow through Friday, we’ll choose four more clubs to receive a signed copy of the same book.

Ian will be at Mall of America on Sunday, Oct. 11, signing books for those folks who don’t win a signed copy from us.

How can a dozen or so club members share one beautiful book? Here’s my suggestion.
