If you’re a book club member, an engaged reader, an established or aspiring writer, or all of the above, you’re invited to join us at MinnPost’s first Book Club Blast.

It’s on Sunday, March 7, from 2 to 5 pm at Open Book in downtown Minneapolis. And there’s no charge to attend.

The event begins with a “meet & mingle” reception with MinnPost writers who have recent or forthcoming books. Enjoy free refreshments or buy a glass of wine while you chat with Judith Yates Borger, Doug Grow, Joe Kimball, Jim Klobuchar, Iric Nathanson, Mark Neuzil, Al Sicherman and Jay Weiner.

For more in-depth conversation in small groups with well-known local authors, you can sign up for “speed chatting.” Six authors — Marisha Chamberlain, Heid Erdrich, Nick Hayes, Jim Heynen, Julie Kramer and Alison McGhee — will each conduct three 15-minute sessions.

And we’ll end on a light note, with author/actress/comic Lorna Landvik talking about “Book Clubs and Me.”

Space is limited. We’ll post more details here and you can register here. If you have questions, email bookclubclub [at] minnpost [dot] com.

Event co-sponsors are The Loft, Midwest Booksellers Association, The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and the Minnesota Book Awards.
