President Obama: Book club leader in chief

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then American readers are paying President Obama the ultimate compliment.

When the commander in chief buys a book — or mentions it in an interview, or adds it to his online reading list — it’s gonna be big.

According to Jennifer Schuessler of the New York Times, a nod from the President and a title flies off the store shelves as Americans scramble to posses it.

The sales boost given to Obama’s reads has been termed the “Obama bump,” and it’s a publisher’s dream.
