Book lovers, mark your calendars — on Monday, March 28, MinnPost’s Book Club Club, in conjunction with Minnesota Opera and The Loft Literary Center will present “Wuthering Heights: Is This Love?“
In tandem with the upcoming production of the opera “Wuthering Heights,” we’ll explore literature’s most heartrending and complicated relationship. We’ve gathered a panel of experts to debate the question “Is this love?,” focusing on the tumultuous relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine, their romantic and family dynamics, and repetitive behavior patterns among family generations.
Book Club Club diary host Sally Williams will moderate this lively discussion, which will feature performances of musical excerpts by Minnesota Opera singers.

The distinguished panel will include Diana Postlethwaite, chair of the St. Olaf English department and a Brontë scholar; Sara Hoppe, co-owner and psychologist at Grove Psychotherapy in Minneapolis, specializing in couples communication, parent-child issues, and backgrounds of abuse; and “Wuthering Heights” stage director Eric Simonson, also an Academy Award-winning filmmaker.
After the event, join us at Spill the Wine — located just across the street from The Loft — for drinks and further conversation!
There is no charge to attend this event, however pre-registration is recommended. Register now or call 612-333-6669 to RSVP.
