Authors Jenny Breen and Susan Thurston will be in Chaska this Saturday, April 9, to launch their new book, “Cooking Up the Good Life: Creative Recipes for the Family Table.”

"Cooking Up the Good Life"

Featuring refreshingly simple, creative and unfussy recipes, “Cooking Up the Good Life”‘s relaxed and encouraging style helps both beginners and experienced cooks create wholesome dishes that highlight the natural beauty and elegance of Midwestern seasonal ingredients. Oh, yes — and they’re absolutely delicious.

The book launch event, which will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the Oswald Visitor Center at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, will feature a cooking demonstration, author talk and book signing.

Breen will discuss her journey as a chef and talk about how she created the recipes “Cooking Up the Good Life.” She’ll talk about the concepts and values behind using locally-produced, sustainable food, the fun of “the family kitchen” and how she and co-author Susan Thurston brought the collection together. Recipe food samples and refreshments to be served.

The event is free for Arboretum members and $15 for non-members. To register, call membership at 952-443-1440.
