If you haven’t already taken advantage of the 30 Days of Reading activities going on around the Twin Cities this June, you still have the chance!
This Saturday, June 25, Boneshaker Books will be hosting a bicycle race with a bookish twist! “Pedal ForWords: Alleycat Race” will celebrate the power of books — and bikes — to take us to new and spectacular places.
Participants will begin gathering at Powderhorn Park (near the recreation building) at 4 p.m. — look for the Boneshaker Books banner.
Bring your bicycle (and helmet!) and a book you’ve read recently; you will need the book to participate in activities at the race checkpoints. The race kicks off at 5 p.m.
An afterparty and awards ceremony will take place at Boneshaker Books at 8 p.m.
Bring your ID if you wish to enjoy beer at the party, compliments of a local home-brewer and Zipps Liquor. Prizes include $50 gift certificate from Boneshaker and gift certificates and bike swag from The Hub bike co-op and Angry Catfish.
