Do editorial boards hate Al Franken? (Update 6 — Fairmont/New Ulm edition)

More daily-paper disdain for Franken — he’s now losing the endorsement battle 8-0 or 14-0, depending on how you count.

Sorry, these are coming fast and furious today. The Fairmont Sentinel endorsed Norm this morning, and a daily under the same ownership, the New Ulm Journal, picked Coleman a week ago.

Al Franken’s daily-paper non-endorsement streak continues. The count is now 9-0* Norm (if you count chain endorsements as one), or 14-0 if you count each paper individually. Dean Barkley has two dailies’ nods.

Here’s the updated list — no link to the Sentinel’s endorsement yet.

Norm Coleman
Star Tribune
Pioneer Press
Forum Communications (Duluth News-Tribune, Fargo-Moorhead Forum and and four others)
Rochester Post-Bulletin
Albert Lea Tribune
Marshall Independent
Mesabi Daily News
New Ulm Journal

Al Franken — no dailies yet.

Still to weigh in: papers in Mankato and Winona.

(* – I’m told the Fairmont, New Ulm and Marshall papers make their endorsements individually, even though they’re all owned by the same company. So I bumped Norm’s total up one to 9-0 to reflect Fairmont’s independence.)
