Republican who trash-talked Ellison in trouble

Remember Virgil Goode, the Virginia congressman who demanded that Keith Ellison, a Muslim, take his 2006 congressional oath on a Bible, not a Quran?

And who, for good measure, stated that unless stricter immigration policies were enacted, “many more Muslims” would be elected?

Well, it looks like Goode’s constituents may go where Michele Bachmann’s didn’t and turn him out — though it’s close; Goode trails by 80 votes with 100 percent of the precincts reporting.

In 2006, Goode was re-elected with 59 percent of the vote.
