Norm Coleman welcomed it, and now he’s got it: the FBI is asking questions about an alleged scheme to funnel money to the senator, the PiPress’ Dave Orrick reports.

Citing an unnamed source, FBI investigators have been asking Texans questions about a lawsuit alleging Coleman benefactor Nasser Kazeminy used a marine-technology company to send $100,000 through Coleman’s wife’s employer. There is no evidence Coleman knew of the scheme or benefitted from it.

The senator has said he “welcomes an investigation,” but his office insists they have not been contacted by the feds.

It was hard to believe the FBI would stay away from a corruption case of this magnitude. Kazeminy’s spokeslawyer denies being contacted, and other principals declined to comment or couldn’t be reached.
