We’ve now passed the $5,000 mark in HighBrau & LowBrau micro-sponsorships. This means more than $10,000 for MinnPost, including the match from the Harnisch Foundation.
As of this morning, 171 Highbraus have contributed $25 each, and 81 Lowbraus have contributed $10 each, for a total of $5,085. Donors are anonymous, because David Brauer does not want to know who’s supporting his media reporting and commentary. As a side benefit, donors who work in media don’t have to worry whether their bosses approve of their support for MinnPost, because their bosses won’t know.
And we still have three weeks to go.
All contributions made by June 9, up to a limit of $10,000, will be matched by the Harnisch Foundation in New York. Ruth Ann Harnisch, a former journalist, is interested in ways that communities can fund public affairs journalism, and the Braublog micro-sponsorship is an experiment in this kind of funding.
To the 252 of you who have signed on, our thanks!
To the rest of David’s fans, here’s your chance to support MinnPost’s brand of journalism.
