OtterGate comes to a classy resolution

Wednesday, I got on my high horse, insisting the credit-seeking Star Tribune give credit when reprinting other organizations’ stories. (In this case, MPR reporter Dan Olson’s ode to Mississippi River otters.)

In totally stand-up fashion, Night Metro Editor Pam Miller not only owned up to the mistake on these very web pages, she vowed to not let it happen again. As I wrote yesterday of PiPress reporter Bill Salisbury’s willingness to revisit his health care reporting: classy.

It’s especially compelling because Pam and the Strib’s copy editors never get credit, unlike those with bylines.

By the way, Thursday’s PiPress featured a page-two clarification of Salisbury’s story, noting that U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar has not decided to support the so-called “public option. (Only quibble: I couldn’t find the correction on, or appended to the original story.)
