Politifact: Bachmann now 0-for-7 on truth-telling

Another swing and a miss for Minnesota’s most coverable congresswoman, according to the Pulitizer Prize-winning fact-checkers from the St. Petersburg Times.

This time, it’s Rep. Bachmann statement that the House health care bill “says specifically that people can’t purchase private health insurance after a date certain.” Truth-O-Meter verdict: “Pants on fire.”

For those of us keeping score, this is the seventh time Politifact has checked out a Bachmann claim, and the seventh time it’s been found false. Four of those seven have been rated “pants on fire” for high level of distortion.

But don’t worry Michele; George Will says all is forgiven because you make Democrats mad. Moral relativism, indeed.

Yes, but Michelle Bachman is a fairy.

If everyone ignored her, she’d become invisible.

I think that would be a much better world, all in all.

And yet you were unable to resist tossing your two cents in anyway, were you Eric.

I also plan to stand on a street corner and not think of a white bear.

(even more obscure, that one is)

The most probable reason this could be a lie is because no one knows what’s in the House Bill especially the crooks in Washington trying to ram it through.

If this comes to a vote this year (November 3 election results put that into question), it will be about a 2000 page bill that not a single legislator will have read from cover to cover. Who is to say what will or will not be in there?

She has an enormous difficulty with the truth.

But, since this is perceived as a ‘liberal’ news site by her followers, you are speaking to the converted.

    Steve, Lee –

Are you both serious? She named a *page number.*

    Don’t define truthfulness downward.

I can’t believe this woman. Bachmann has been torn apart time-and-time again. I sure hope when her time is up that Minnesotan’s don’t put her back in office. Why do Republicans always put such boobs forward. Rod Grams, Dave Durenburger, Rudy Boschwits (sp), and now her. Have the Republicans’ not learned or better yet, found someone better than these people? I don’t lean one particular way but, it is time for leaders and not people trying to be stars. Bachman’s star is fading away fast.
