WCCO-AM program director Wendy Paulson confirms that longtime political reporter Eric Eskola will return to the station, for one night at least.

Eskola, who accepted a Good Neighbor buyout this spring, will host the station’s Aug. 10 primary election night coverage.

The news was first reported by Eskola’s election-night partner, Blois Olson, in Olson’s “Morning Take” newsletter.

Eskola still co-hosts TPT’s “Almanac,” and the Aug. 10 stint will have him covering some of the same legislators who gave him a farewell tribute in May. I suspect (but don’t know) that they may be welcoming him back on more than just primary day.

And by the way, Eskola will be inducted into the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame in October. Fellow inductees include departing KSTP anchor Cyndy Brucato and the late WCCO reporter Darcy Pohland.
