Ex-Minnesota Monthly editor Andrew Putz quits Boston Magazine

Andrew Putz, the Minnesota Monthly editor whose tenure was successful enough to earn him a job at bigger-city Boston Magazine in 2009, resigned today after 17 months on the job.

Both sides are making nice on, but like many places in the publishing world, the mag’s leadership has had some recent turmoil. Larry Platt, the editorial director who oversaw Boston and Philadelphia and knew Putz from their time together in the latter city, left this summer under “difficult” circumstances. At the time, the Philadelphia Inquirer noted furloughs and pay cuts in Beantown.

I freelanced for Putz a couple of times and had good experiences, so I hope he lands on his feet.
