Bemidji newspaper shot at — again

Scary stuff in northern Minnesota, where the Bemidji Pioneer offices were shot at … for the second time in a month.

Publisher Dennis Doeden says there’s nothing new to report beyond what’s in his paper’s story Tuesday morning: multiple bullets hit the building, likely between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was hurt, but glass was shattered, including a panel that was replaced from a New Year’s Day shooting.

Police theorize that since the bullets were low, it may have been a drive-by shooting. Nightmarish stuff. No one has been arrested (authorities are comparing bullets from the two shootings) so no one knows if this is related to the Pioneer’s coverage.

The Pioneer is owned by Fargo-based Forum Communications.
