‘Breaking news’ on online recipes; also: the latest cut in ‘guy trends,’ and Imation’s new hard drive for travelers

It appears to be a slow day for news about Minnesota companies, so we’re leading with “breaking news” about Italian Turkey Sausage Pizza. That’s one of the recipes you’ll find on Jennie-O Turkey‘s new redesigned website. The Willmar-based turkey processor says the site has a robust recipe section, which lets users search, rate and share their favorites.

Here’s another counterintuitive guy trend — like pink shirts a few years ago — that I think I’ll sit out for now, too: Regis is opening a line of upscale salons for men, the Star Tribune’s Jackie Crosby reports today. Apparently, there’s a lot of men out there who are sick of being “butchered in a barbershop” and are willing to pay big bucks for things like highlights, scalp massages and brow waxing. Raze for Men opens Friday in Minnetonka. Haircuts start at $25.

Imation has unveiled a portable hard drive that lets travelers carry the entire contents of their computer in a back pocket. The Essential TravelDrive is being sold under the Memorex brand and starts at around $90. The slim, 2.5-inch-tall storage device is designed to fit easily in a pocketbook or purse and comes in sizes that can hold 160, 250 or 320 gigs of data.
