Cirrus ends year on a down note but hopes to take off in ’09

Duluth airplane maker Cirrus Design Corp. plans to reopen its production lines after weak sales prompted a month off, says the Duluth News Tribune.

That’s good news for the company, and 500 furloughed workers, as they start the new year.

The old year ended on a downer when one of its planes made an emergency landing on Hwy. 61, north of Duluth, on New Year’s Eve.
